Lecture End in Bacolod - 5 Baptized (11/5/13)

As I start to write this report, it is 1am on Wednesday morning (11/6) and I am exhausted. Last night in Bacolod was the celebration for the Hindu new year. I had no idea that India had unloaded so much of their population on the Philippines, but it became abundantly clear that the relocated population was the portion of India that could not sing a lick! The unbelievably load “music” and shouting on loud speakers continued throughout the night. None of us got much sleep — I may have gotten an hour and a half total. Thus, when I reached the comfort of the hotel in Cebu, I crashed and awoke with my laptop on me to find it was 1am and I had slept instead of doing my report. Please forgive the delay.

The lectures concluded with a half day session this morning. Jonathan started with a lesson on “The Establishment & Identity of Christ’s Kingdom.” I followed with two lessons. The first was a detailed look at “New Testament Baptism vs. Denominational Baptism.” The next was the lesson I always give preceding the extension of the invitation — “Counting the Cost.” Jack Jaco gave the invitation of the Lord and four young people who were invited by Shem Tagapan’s children came to confess their faith and be baptized. After the session, an older lady from Victorias City came to talk with me about her baptism in the Baptist Church. She had been visiting where Jack preaches for the past two Sundays and had learned a great deal already. She expressed her desire to be baptized into Christ. All were taken to be baptized and we went to the mall so I could purchase all of them Bibles since none of them had one. So, we had five total souls baptized into Christ today!

Please excuse the brevity of this report, but I will give greater detail tomorrow when I can stay awake better, the Lord willing. Thanks again for your prayers. God bless!
