Lectures in Tuguegarao - One Baptized

The lectures in Tuguegarao today were held at the building of the Metro Tuguegarao congregation. So, we had an air conditioned venue today with only one, short period of brown-out for the full day. After having no electricity in the mountains and a full blackout in Tabuk yesterday, it was a welcomed change. The temperatures have been hot for the past few days and it was even hotter today. There were about 200 present for the lectures today.

In the morning session, Chip started with a lesson on “Blessings in Christ.” I followed with a study from Deuteronomy 5 – 11, “Moses’ Wilderness Lesson on Obedience,” showing the principles for how we learn obedience. Rody summarized each lesson in the dialect and extended an invitation at the close of the session. One 14-year-old boy came to be baptized into Christ for forgiveness of his sins.

After the lunch break, Chip preached “No Tears” giving a message of hope that we can have in Christ. The lectures concluded with my sermon on “Choose the Right Master” from Matthew 6. Rody summarized both lessons at the end and extended another invitation, but there were no visible results.

Tonight, we are preparing for Lord’s Day services here in Tuguegarao and packing for our trip to Laoag tomorrow afternoon. If I have an opportunity to file a report before we leave tomorrow, I will do so. If not, I will file a report late Sunday night after we get to Laoag, the Lord willing. Thanks again for your help and support as we continue in this effort.

Brotherly, Harry O.
